Description
The Woodland Scenics D247 HO Scale Dump Truck is a metal casting kit of a vintage 1½-ton Federal dump truck — the early 20th-century crank-operated dump truck with steel wheels typical of 1910s–1930s construction sites, quarries, and railroad MOW yards.
Prototype: Federal Motor Truck Company (Detroit, founded 1910) built rugged commercial trucks through the 1950s. The 1½-ton Federal dump was a workhorse for construction, gravel, and municipal use in the early automotive era — distinctive for its crank-operated dump mechanism (hand-cranked rear hopper rather than the later hydraulic tilt) and solid steel artillery wheels (no pneumatic tires until the 1920s).
What's in the kit: Metal casting parts for assembly. Comes unpainted — paint and detail according to your era and scene. Load the rear hopper with gravel, dirt, coal, or scrap for a realistic loaded look.
