Mail by Flexi-Van: this Illinois Central pair wears the diamond logo with U.S. Mail lettering and side doors, recalling the postal contracts that kept early intermodal trains busy. The Flexi-Van system debuted in 1958 with removable wheels for special flatcars, and the trailers later ran as conventional 40-footers into the 1980s. Fully assembled with detailed wheels, bogie and landing gear, they load neatly onto WalthersMainline G85 flatcars (910-5479 series, sold separately) or park at your mail dock.
