The 54' 23,000-gallon funnel-flow tank car is one of the most recognizable general-service tank cars of the modern era. Built to Union Tank Car Company's funnel-flow design, the tank slopes from both ends toward a centre bottom outlet so the lading drains completely — a feature that made these cars favourites with petroleum and chemical shippers across North America from the 1960s right through to today.
Walthers Proto captures Procor's classic green PROX tank car #75124 in HO scale — a fleet leased out of Oakville, Ontario, right here in our home town, whose cars roam the entire continent. Proto-series standards include separately applied body and underbody details, free-rolling metal wheelsets and the new Proto MAX double-shelf couplers.
