The SoundTraxx 810100 Speaker Baffle Kit is the inexpensive upgrade that makes any sound decoder installation sound dramatically better. A speaker without a baffle lets the sound waves from the back of the cone cancel the sound from the front — the result is thin, tinny audio no matter how good the decoder is. Sealing the speaker in a baffle enclosure stops that cancellation and unlocks fuller, richer sound with noticeably more bass.
If you are installing a Tsunami2, Econami, Blunami, or any other brand of sound decoder, a properly baffled speaker is the single biggest audio improvement you can make. This kit provides the enclosure pieces to seal your speaker against the shell or frame of the model.
