Description
The Scale Scenics 3501 Micro-Mesh Brass is a sheet of finely woven brass mesh — one of the most versatile scratchbuilding materials you can keep on the workbench. Real railroads and industries are full of mesh: safety screens, vent grilles, walkway grating, window guards, chain-link style fencing, radiator grilles and conveyor screens all read instantly as "metal mesh" on a model.
Because it's genuine brass, Micro-Mesh cuts cleanly with scissors or a sharp blade, holds a fold or curve without spring-back, and can be soldered or attached with CA adhesive. It takes primer and paint well, or can be chemically blackened for a subtle, non-shiny finish.
How to use
- Grilles, vents, screens and grating on structures and equipment
- Window safety screens and fencing details
- Cut with scissors or hobby knife; attach with CA or solder
- Prime and paint, or chemically blacken for a natural metal finish
