The Bombardier LRC (Light, Rapid, Comfortable) was Canada's homegrown high-speed passenger train, and after 45 years of service VIA Rail is retiring the fleet. Bombardier built 50 LRC-2 cars for VIA in 1981-82 and 50 LRC-3 cars in 1984-85, and they ran on the Québec City–Windsor corridor for decades, behind LRC, F40PH-2D and P42DC locomotives. VIA 1 business class cars carried the premium service on the same trains.
Rapido's N scale LRC cars match its N scale LRC locomotives and trainsets, so you can build a complete consist in the scheme of your choice. Coaches and VIA 1 Business Class cars are offered in VIA's Original, Canada and Renaissance schemes, the "The Future Is On Board" wrap, and a faded Canada scheme coach. Each car has full underbody and interior detail. Pre-orders require a 25% deposit; balance collected when stock arrives.
