The Rapido 16347 is an HO scale Budd RDC-2 in the VIA Rail Canada 2010s Rebuild scheme, car #6217 — DC/Silent (21-pin DCC-ready). Road-specific details: Phase II body; VIA's 2010s rebuild with blanked ends, new steps and xenon lights.
Budd's stainless-steel Rail Diesel Car carried passengers on branch lines and commuter runs across North America for more than 60 years. This Rapido run adds the RDC-9 — the cab-less, single-motor "powered trailer" Budd built for the Boston & Maine in 1956, most of which later ran for CN and VIA until 1988 — alongside RDC-1s in a long list of new schemes and VIA Rail's 2010s rebuilds.
