The Rapido 1106516 is an HO scale EMD SW10 switcher in the Ferromex Armor Yellow scheme, road number #1203 — DC/DCC/Sound with a factory-installed ESU LokSound decoder.
In the late 1970s Union Pacific chose to rebuild its aging SW7, SW9 and TR5A switchers instead of buying new ones. UP's Omaha Shops turned out 75 SW10s between 1979 and 1984 — 645 power assemblies, new wiring, and two 36-inch electric cooling fans from retired GP9s in the distinctive hood hump. Many later went to Ferromex, Canadian Pacific, lessors and short lines.
