The Rapido 1084037 is an HO scale three-car set of Comet I commuter cars — cab car #5114 and coaches #1720 and #1756 — in the NJ TRANSIT Ditch Light Era scheme (1996+); the set pairs one high-door cab car with two low-door trailer coaches. From 1996 the NJ TRANSIT Comet I cab cars gained ditch lights for push-pull service on the Hoboken Division — the look of the fleet through its final decade.
Erie Lackawanna's 155 Pullman-Standard "Dieseliners" of the early 1970s — rebuilt by Bombardier for NJ TRANSIT in 1985–87 — are the original Comets, and this is the first time they have been offered as a fully detailed ready-to-run HO model. Match them with Rapido's U34CH and F40PH-2CAT locomotives.
