The Rapido 1084021 is an HO scale single Comet II CTC-1B ex-cab-car coach (headlight and horn removed, control area plated over) #1607 in the MBTA Modern Scheme scheme (2005+). Boston's MBTA Comets — BTC-1B coaches and CTC-1B cab cars — wear the purple-and-silver modern scheme seen on every North Side and South Side commuter line.
Designed by Pullman-Standard for NJDOT and built in volume by Bombardier from the early 1980s, the Comet is the most recognizable commuter car in North America; most are still in service today. Match them with Rapido's F40PH and P32AC-DM locomotives.
