The Rapido 1074512 is an HO scale GE B23-7 in the Norfolk Southern scheme, road number #4018 — DC/DCC/Sound with a factory-installed ESU LokSound decoder. Road-specific details: high short hood and ditch lights.
GE's Dash-7 line arrived in late 1976 with dozens of internal updates over the Universal series — every Dash-7 has the wider hood section ahead of the radiators and the protruding radiator wings. Rapido's Phase III B-Boats are a first in HO with the correct details and dimensions: B23-7, B30-7, B36-7 and the unmistakable cabless B30-7A that Burlington Northern ordered in 1982 and 1983.
