Description
The Rapido 10568 is an HO scale GMD-1 in Canadian National "Noodle" (wet noodle) scheme — road number #1900 — with factory-installed DC / DCC / Sound (dual-mode).
Prototype: The GMD-1 was a uniquely Canadian branchline diesel built by General Motors Diesel in London, Ontario, starting in 1958. The original 1900-series four-axle units were geared for 83 mph and fitted with a Vapor steam generator in the short hood for passenger service. CN repainted the fleet into the iconic "wet noodle" scheme that became the railway's signature look.
