The Rapido 1043555 is an HO scale rebuilt F40PH-3C in the Metro-North Current Scheme (West of Hudson) scheme, road number #4911 — DC/DCC/Sound with a factory-installed ESU LokSound 5 decoder. Metro-North's F40PH-3C units work the West-of-Hudson lines out of Hoboken in the current blue, red and silver scheme, with strobe lights and ditch lights.
Built by EMD from 1976 for Amtrak and quickly adopted by commuter agencies across Canada and the United States, the 3,000 hp F40PH is the most popular passenger locomotive of the last fifty years. Rapido's 2026 run adds all-new late-production Q-fan bodies plus the F40PH-3 and F40PH-2CAT rebuild variations, with road-specific ditch lights, bells, strobes and PTC antennas where appropriate.
