The Rapido 1017506 is an HO scale Santa Fe CF7 with the square cab in the Gloster Southern scheme, road number #1502 — DC/DCC/Sound with a factory-installed ESU LokSound 5 decoder. Mississippi's Gloster Southern, another Georgia-Pacific short line, dressed its CF7s in the same green-and-white family look as sister road Ashley, Drew & Northern.
Santa Fe's Cleburne Shops rebuilt 233 tired F7 cab units into CF7 road switchers between 1969 and 1978 — one of the most successful locomotive rebuild programs of all time. Sold off to regionals and short lines in the mid-1980s, CF7s are still earning their keep today in California, Florida, Texas and beyond. Rapido's 2026 run adds ditch lights on appropriate road names and covers five cab and two hood variations with road-number-specific details.
- Square-cab CF7 with the correct open or closed sill assembly for this road number
- Working headlights, ground lights, number boards, beacon and ditch lights (where appropriate)
- Separate metal grab irons and handrails, etched grills and steps
- Full multi-colour cab interior with lighted gauges
- Incredible underbody detail — piping, draft gear, sand lines
- Heavy die-cast chassis; suggested minimum radius 18"
- ESU LokSound 5 DCC/Sound decoder with MoPower capacitor for uninterrupted power
