Description
The Peco W3TPA6 is a sheet of self-adhesive patchy grass tufts, 6 mm tall. Unlike neat round tufts, patchy tufts are irregular, straggly clumps with varied density — exactly the broken, half-worn ground cover you see beside real railway lines.
Why patchy tufts: The transition zones are what sell a scene — where ballast fades into cess, where a path crosses a field, where grass struggles through cinders. Patchy tufts are made for those in-between areas: not bare earth, not lush lawn, but the scruffy middle ground that most layouts miss.
How to use
- Peel each tuft from the backing sheet with tweezers and press onto the scenery — the base is self-adhesive.
- Add a dot of PVA or scenic glue for permanent hold on rough surfaces.
- Work them along ballast shoulders, yard edges, paths and around structures.
- Approx. 100 tufts per sheet; combine with standard and dead tufts for full variation.
