Description
An under-baseboard solenoid point motor for operating PECO turnouts. Twin-coil design — a momentary pulse from a 16 V capacitor-discharge unit (CDU) or push-button supply throws the points one way or the other. PECO has built and sold this same motor for over 40 years; it remains the simplest, cheapest way to motorise a turnout.
How it works
- Clips directly under any PECO Streamline or Setrack turnout.
- Requires a baseboard cut-out: 40 mm × 24 mm.
- Drive from a 16 V AC accessory output through a CDU (recommended), or via momentary push-buttons / a PECO PL-26 passing-contact switch.
Pair it with
- PL-12 / PL-12X — adapter base for above-baseboard mounting.
- PL-13 — single accessory microswitch (frog polarity, signal control).
- PL-15 — twin microswitch unit for polarity + route indicators.
- PL-26 — passing-contact (stud-and-probe) switch for control panels.
- PL-34 — pre-wired harness for quick connection.
- NCE Switch-It / Digitrax DS64 / similar stationary decoder — for DCC throttle control.
