Description
The NCE 5240200 AIU01 Auxiliary Input Unit is the feedback gateway for NCE layouts — it reports the state of up to 14 inputs back to your NCE command station over the cab bus. Connect block detectors (such as the NCE BD20), turnout position contacts, pushbuttons, or occupancy sensors, and their status becomes available to the system for signaling and computer control.
For anyone running layout automation software (JMRI and similar) with an NCE Power Pro or Power Cab system, the AIU is the standard way to get detection and feedback information into the computer: the software polls the command station, the command station polls the AIU, and your signals, panels, and automated routes respond to real train movement.
