The TrainWorx 42894-05 is an N scale (1:160) 28-foot pup van trailer with converter dolly in GI Trucking livery — for prototype-correct LTL doubles configuration on layout highway and grade-crossing scenes.
Prototype: The 28-foot pup van is the standard short trailer used in LTL doubles (two pups behind one tractor, linked by a converter dolly) and triples (three pups) configurations — the workhorse of cross-country less-than-truckload freight. The converter dolly is a short single-axle frame with kingpin on top and fifth wheel that lets a second (or third) pup trailer connect behind the first.
Carrier: GI Trucking Company (later GI Logistics) was a smaller US LTL and intermodal carrier — a niche player on the West Coast and through the Midwest. Distinctive yellow-and-red livery.
