The Micro Engineering 36-105 is a pack of 1,000 weathered wood ties in regular length for N scale — real wood ties pre-weathered to a naturally aged grey-brown, ready to lay without staining.
Why handlay on wood: Real wood ties give handlaid track a texture and colour variation no plastic tie strip can match. In N scale, where the eye is close to the entire scene, individually laid ties with subtle differences in tone make mainlines, sidings and spurs look genuinely worked-in.
Use: Glue ties to the roadbed at prototype spacing (closer for mainline, wider for sidings), sand the tops level, then spike or glue ME N scale rail — Code 40 or Code 55 for fine-scale work, Code 70 for heavier lines.
