Description
The Micro Engineering 36-104 is a pack of 250 weathered wood turnout ties for HOn3 — real wood ties supplied in the graduated longer lengths needed under a turnout, pre-weathered to a naturally aged grey-brown so they look like ties that have been in service for years.
Why turnout-length ties: Under a switch, the prototype uses progressively longer ties to carry both the through route and the diverging route. This assortment gives you those longer lengths so handlaid HOn3 turnouts sit on correct, convincing timber — cut each tie to final length as your switch geometry requires.
Use: Glue ties to the roadbed on your turnout template, sand the tops level, then spike ME rail (Code 40-70 suits HOn3) with ME small spikes. Being pre-weathered, the ties need no staining before tracklaying.
