Description
The Micro Engineering 30-104 is a pack of 800 medium 3/8" track spikes — blackened-steel spikes for handlaying model railroad track. The offset head grips the rail foot and holds it firmly to the tie, just like the prototype.
Which spike size: The medium 3/8" spike is the all-round choice for HO and O narrow gauge handlaying — long enough for solid holding power in wood ties over roadbed, with a head small enough not to overwhelm mid-size rail codes like Code 70 and Code 83.
Use: Push or press each spike in with fine needle-nose spiking pliers, working alternate sides of the rail to keep gauge true. Pair with ME bulk rail and wood tie packs for complete handlaid trackwork.
