The Micro Engineering 27-103 is a pack of 100 tie plates for Code 250 rail in large scale / G gauge. On the prototype, tie plates sit between the rail foot and the wooden tie, spreading the load and holding the rail to gauge — and they do exactly the same job on handlaid large-scale track.
Use: Handlaying fine-scale G-gauge track and building your own switches with ME Code 250 rail. Place a tie plate on each tie, set the rail foot into the plate, and spike through the holes with ME large spikes. The result is track that is both stronger and dramatically more realistic than bare rail spiked straight to the tie.
