Description
The Micro Engineering 14-712 is an HO Code 83 #5b left-hand turnout with a curved diverging route from Micro Engineering's Ladder Track System. Where a conventional turnout has a straight diverging leg, the #5b's diverging route continues on a curve — letting you build compact, flowing yard ladders and sidings that pack more track into less depth while keeping smooth, derailment-resistant geometry.
The Ladder Track System: ME's ladder turnouts are designed to interconnect directly, one into the next, producing prototypically tight yard throats without the wasted straight sections that conventional turnouts force between tracks. The result is a yard that holds more cars and looks like the real thing.
Like all Micro Engineering turnouts it features fine-scale moulded ties, tie plates and spike-head detail, nickel-silver rail, and a one-piece cast frog. Compatible with Code 83 track from Micro Engineering, Atlas, Walthers/Shinohara, PECO (with standard rail joiners) — use ME transition joiners to mate with other rail codes.
