Depth is the difference here. Two 2mm layers combine in these multi-layered spring tufts, giving a fuller, more believable stand of fresh growth than a single layer alone.

Lift each tuft from the carrier with tweezers and press it down with white or all-purpose glue wherever spring should take hold.
