Description
Labelle 102 is a heavy-bodied, plastic-compatible gear lubricant made for the gearboxes and gear towers of model locomotives. Where a thin oil would fling off spinning gear teeth, this thicker lubricant clings to the gears, cushioning the mesh, quieting gear growl, and dramatically reducing wear in the drivetrain.
Like all Labelle products it is 100% safe on plastics — it will not attack the delrin and engineering-plastic gears used in virtually every modern locomotive, in any scale. One tube handles an entire fleet, and a properly greased gearbox typically stays quiet for years of running.
How to Use
- Open the gearbox or gear tower and clean out old, dirty lubricant if present
- Apply a small amount to the gear teeth — the gears will distribute it as they turn
- Do not overfill the gearbox; a thin coating on the teeth is all that's needed
- Pairs well with Labelle 107/108 oils for bearings and axles
