Description
The KATO 2-170 is a 2-pack of HO Unitrack 109 mm (4-1/4′′) straight track sections terminated by a moulded bumper post — the standard dead-end piece for every spur, siding, and stub-track on a Unitrack layout.
Prototype: Bumping posts (Hayes, Buda, Western-Cullen) prevent rolling stock from leaving the end of a track and have been a feature of every freight yard since the early 20th century.
KATO HO Unitrack system: Code 83 nickel-silver rail molded into a factory-attached ballasted plastic roadbed, with integrated UniJoiners. Layouts assemble five to ten times faster than sectional or flex track.
