Description
Genuine Kadee 0-48 x 1/8" self-tapping screws — the fast-install fastener for coupler boxes and small parts. Self-tapping screws cut their own threads as they drive, so there's no separate tapping step: drill the pilot hole, drive the screw, done. The coarse 0-48 thread bites securely into styrene and other plastics.
How to use
- Drill an appropriately sized pilot hole, then drive the screw slowly with a fine screwdriver — the screw forms its own threads
- Ideal for mounting coupler gearboxes to plastic underframes without a tap set
- Don't overtighten in plastic; stop as the head seats to avoid stripping the formed threads
