The narrower .088" tread is the detail upgrade you notice every time a train rolls past — finer, closer to prototype proportions than standard .110" wheels, while still running reliably through commercial turnouts on well-laid track.
Each machined metal wheelset is insulated on one wheel, non-magnetic, and follows NMRA RP-25 contours, so they drop into most HO trucks without fuss. The added axle weight also lowers the car's centre of gravity — smoother tracking and less string-lining on curves come free with the better looks.
