Description
The Digitrax PX112-10 is a Power Xtender for 10-Pin Sound Decoders (Series 6) — a keep-alive capacitor module that plugs into Digitrax Series 6 sound decoders to keep the loco running, sound playing, and lights on during brief power interruptions caused by dirty track, dead frogs, or transitions across insulated gaps.
- For Digitrax Series 6 decoders with 10-pin sound harnesses (SDH166D, SDXH166D)
- Compact body: 1.575″ × 0.547″ × 0.315″ — fits in most HO chassis cavities
- Hold-up time varies (typically 0.5–2 seconds)
- Why use it: Sound decoders are particularly sensitive to micro power dropouts — a keep-alive cap bridges these gaps invisibly
- Plug-and-play installation via the decoder's 10-pin power harness
