Description
The Circuitron 6101 External Cable & Actuator For The Remote Tortoise Mount is the remote-mount actuator kit — a flexible cable + actuator assembly that lets you install a Tortoise switch machine away from the turnout (e.g. to clear a benchwork brace or other obstruction).
What it does: When the Tortoise can't go directly under the turnout, this kit lets you mount it nearby and run a flexible push-pull cable to the throwbar. Includes the cable, throwbar actuator, and mounting hardware for one Tortoise installation.
- For: One Tortoise installation
- Includes: Flexible cable + throwbar actuator + mounting hardware
- When to use: Tortoise can't fit directly under the turnout (benchwork bracing, duck-under, etc.)
- Circuitron SKU: 6101 (Walthers 800-6101)
Tip: Keep the cable as straight as possible — sharp bends increase friction and slow the throw.
About Circuitron: A USA-made model-railroad electronics specialist (Maryville, Illinois) founded in the 1970s. Famous for the industry-standard Tortoise slow-motion under-table switch machine and its surface-mount cousin the SMAIL. The full range covers detection (block detectors, Opto-Sensor grade-crossing logic), automation (auto-reversers, external relays, twin-coil alternators), signal / lighting electronics (alternating flashers, ditch-light oscillators, strobe drivers), power supplies, and a complete set of Tortoise / SMAIL replacement parts plus the solderless ZipZ connection system. Most circuits work with AC, DC, or DCC track power unless specifically noted otherwise.
