Description
The Circuitron 5820 TL-1 Traffic Light Controller is a 4-way intersection traffic-light sequencer — drives all the LEDs for a complete prototype-correct stoplight intersection, with realistic timing.
What it does: Outputs the standard 4-way prototype sequence (green / yellow / red, with cross-street complement) and drives LEDs for all four corners of a typical intersection. User-adjustable timing for the green / yellow / red phases.
- Drives: Up to 12 LEDs (4 × red, 4 × yellow, 4 × green) for a 4-way intersection
- Sequence: Prototype green → yellow → red with cross-street complement
- Timing: User adjustable
- Power: 12 V DC (use PS-2 5302)
- Circuitron SKU: 5820 (Walthers 800-5820)
Tip: LEDs not included — use any standard 3 mm or 5 mm LEDs with appropriate series resistors. Walthers, Tomar, and Miniatronics all sell scale traffic-light heads.
About Circuitron: A USA-made model-railroad electronics specialist (Maryville, Illinois) founded in the 1970s. Famous for the industry-standard Tortoise slow-motion under-table switch machine and its surface-mount cousin the SMAIL. The full range covers detection (block detectors, Opto-Sensor grade-crossing logic), automation (auto-reversers, external relays, twin-coil alternators), signal / lighting electronics (alternating flashers, ditch-light oscillators, strobe drivers), power supplies, and a complete set of Tortoise / SMAIL replacement parts plus the solderless ZipZ connection system. Most circuits work with AC, DC, or DCC track power unless specifically noted otherwise.
