Description
Baldwin built 160 RF-16 Sharknose cab units between 1950 and 1953 — 109 A-units and 51 boosters — with contours echoing Raymond Loewy's PRR T1. Rated at 1,600 hp, the Sharks were famous luggers on Pennsylvania, B&O and New York Central ore and coal drags, and two ended their days on the Delaware & Hudson. Broadway Limited's N scale run offers A/B sets (powered A with a lightweight unpowered B) and single A and B units in three prototype schemes plus the two D&H units, all with road-specific details and lighting.
This version: B&O Sharknose, RF-16 B, As-Delivered, 857X, No-Sound / DCC-Ready. The Stealth Series version is a No-Sound / DCC-Ready model that runs on DC out of the box, with a factory-installed speaker and a Next18 interface so you can drop in the sound decoder of your choice; front and rear lights are directional, other lights are on with track power.
