Description
Chicago & North Western's Class ES Pacifics were streamlined by Alco in 1930s style for the famous "400" trains, but the railroad turned to EMD diesels before they were delivered and the Yellow Jackets — nicknamed for their yellow-and-green paint — spent their careers on other passenger runs until scrapping in 1953. Broadway Limited's first brass-hybrid run recreates 1942, 1944 and 1952 (renumbered) appearances plus two fantasy schemes for Seaboard Air Line and Chicago & Eastern Illinois, with hand-crafted brass boiler, cab and tender body on diecast chassis.
This version: C&NW 4-6-2 "Yellow Jacket", #1617, 1944 Appearance, No-Sound / DCC-Ready. The Stealth Series version is a No-Sound / DCC-Ready model that runs on DC out of the box, with a factory-installed speaker and a 21-pin interface so you can drop in the sound decoder of your choice; front and rear lights are directional, other lights are on with track power.
