Description
Santa Fe's 3751 class of 1927 were the railroad's first 4-8-4s and Baldwin's first Northerns, built as coal burners and converted to oil in 1936; the 1941 rebuild with 80-inch drivers, new frames and Timken roller bearings made them 103-mph engines. No. 3751 brought the Scout into the brand-new Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal in 1939 and, restored in 1981, still runs excursions today; 3759 hauled the Farewell to Steam. Broadway Limited's first N scale run offers 3756, 3758, 3759 and 3761 in service, 3751 and 3759 as they appear today, and an unlettered version.
