"The Big Engine": the Pennsylvania Railroad's S1 was the longest (140 ft 2½ in) and heaviest rigid-frame reciprocating steam locomotive ever built, a Raymond Loewy-styled 6-4-4-6 duplex completed at Altoona in December 1938 and displayed at the 1939 New York World's Fair before entering service on the Broadway Limited, Liberty Limited and Trail Blazer between Chicago and Crestline. Broadway Limited's brass-hybrid model pairs a hand-crafted brass boiler, cab and tender body with diecast locomotive and tender chassis.
This version: PRR S1 6-4-4-6 Duplex, #6100, 1939 World's Fair Appearance, No-Sound / DCC-Ready. The Stealth Series version is a No-Sound / DCC-Ready model that runs on DC out of the box, with a factory-installed speaker and a 21-pin interface so you can drop in the sound decoder of your choice; front and rear lights are directional, other lights are on with track power.
