Description

The Howard Fogg is Union Pacific's last remaining boiler car and a fixture of the railroad's steam excursions. Built by American Car & Foundry in 1949 as a baggage-dormitory, it became a boiler-baggage-dorm in 1962, was renumbered 209 in 1987, and was named in 1996 for the railroad artist Howard Fogg. A head-end-power generator was added in 2000. Today it still travels with No. 844 and Big Boy No. 4014, with crew sleeping rooms, a shower, a laundry and a small lounge on board.

Broadway Limited's first HO run of the car presents it in unlettered primer gray, ready for you to paint and letter for your own railroad. This is the no-sound version.

Model features: Era-specific roof, truck, underbody and window details · Etched-metal side grilles and fan covers where applicable · Timken roller-bearing trucks · Detailed interior modeled on No. 209 · Dimmable interior lighting with finger-touch control · Two operating Kadee-compatible couplers · Runs on Code 70, 83 and 100 rail · Minimum radius 18".
