Description
American Car & Foundry's Type 27 tank car was one of the most common early tank car designs, built from the late 1920s through the 1940s. The insulated, high-pressure cars carried propane, butane, anhydrous ammonia, methyl chloride and — in this 6,000-gallon variant — chlorine, almost always in private ownership. Broadway Limited's HO reissue is scaled from prototype blueprints with two distinct body types, and each two-pack holds two uniquely numbered cars.
