Description
The E8 (2,250 hp, 1949–1954) and E9 (2,400 hp) were the grand finale of EMD's E-unit passenger diesels, leading the UP City fleet, the Burlington Zephyrs and SP's Daylight and Sunset Limited into the 1970s. Broadway Limited's N scale run offers road-specific A and B units — porthole and dynamic-brake locations, steam generators, beacons and grab irons all per prototype — as A/B sets or single units.
This version: EMD E8A, NYC 4053, Century Green, Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC. The Paragon4 version carries BLI's Paragon4 Sound & Control system an integral dual-mode DCC decoder with Back EMF for the best slow-speed running in DC and DCC, GoPack capacitors and prototypically accurate EMD E8 / E9 sounds.
