The legendary E8 and E9 locomotives represent the grand finale of the iconic “E-Unit” passenger diesel series built by Electro-Motive Division in La Grange, Illinois. Following the tremendous success of the E7, these streamlined beauties quickly became favorites among major railroads across North America. The E8 delivered a powerful 2,250 horsepower from twin 12-cylinder 567B engines, making it a dependable leader for premier passenger trains. The Stealth Series version is DCC-Ready on DC straight out of the box with a pre-installed 8-ohm speaker so you can add your own decoder of choice.
