Description
Union Pacific’s Northern-type locomotives were built by ALCO’s Schenectady Works in three classes between August 1937 and December 1944. The first class, designated FEF-1, consisted of locomotives 800–819. Equipped with 77-inch drivers and a 300-psi boiler, these locomotives impressed UP enough to order 15 additional FEF-2 engines and the iconic FEF-3 class. The Stealth Series version is DCC-Ready on DC straight out of the box with a pre-installed 8-ohm speaker so you can add your own decoder of choice.
