Description
The GMD SD40-2W was Canadian National's wide-cab version of EMD's best-selling SD40-2, built by General Motors Diesel in London, Ontario. The "W" denotes the wide "Canadian comfort cab" that went on to become a North American standard. CN rostered a large fleet of these 3,000 hp units that have worked system-wide from the 1970s to today.
Bowser's HO Executive Line SD40-2W returns with a new round of CN units, now with expanded lighting: operating headlight, class lights, stepwell lights, walkway lights and a track inspection light. This release models CN class GF-30T with dynamic brakes, T-shaped winterization hatch, chicken-wire grills, standard cooling fans and a non-silenced exhaust stack. This is the DC/Analog version, fitted with a 21-pin plug for easy DCC installation.
