Description
The Atlas 595 is an HO Code 83 CustomLine® Mark IV curved left-hand turnout — a specialty turnout with both routes curved (22" inner radius, 30" outer radius), the layout-saver when you need to split a mainline curve into two parallel curved routes without a straight tangent section in between.
Why curved turnouts matter. Standard turnouts have a straight "through" route plus a curved divergent route — they need straight track on both sides to mate cleanly with a mainline curve. A curved turnout lets you splice a turnout directly into an existing curve and have both legs continue as curves. The classic use case: yard throat at the end of a curved mainline approach, or double-track-to-single-track gauntlet on a balloon track. Saves 4–6 inches of layout length you'd otherwise spend on straight-tangent transitions.
Mark IV build. Blackened metal powerable frog, rivet-less switch points, drop-in geometry compatibility with Code 100 Custom Line. Pairs with Atlas 596 (RH curved) for a matched-radius curved crossover.
