The Atlas 590 is an HO Code 83 Warren Truss bridge — the classic triangular-truss highway/railroad bridge that defined small-river crossings on North American railroads from the 1880s through the steam era. The bridge ships with Code 83 track bonded to its deck, ready to drop into your mainline.
What a Warren Truss is. The Warren truss is the bridge type with diagonal members forming alternating triangles — the simplest and most economical of the through-truss designs. Common on prototype railroads for short-to-medium spans (60'–150') over small rivers, ravines, and road crossings. Distinctive triangle pattern is instantly recognizable and adds prototypical character to any scenic location on your layout.
