Description
The Atlas 574 is an HO Code 83 Snap Track 30° crossing — the workhorse diamond crossing, the angle most often used at prototype interlocking-protected junctions where two mainlines cross.
Why 30° is the standard. The 30° angle is the typical "main meets main" prototype crossing geometry — found at railroad junctions, town-center crossings, and anywhere two roads share a grade-level diamond. Wheel-transfer across the crossing is smooth at this angle, and the overall length is short enough to fit a typical layout block without consuming a long mainline run.
Build. Code 83 nickel-silver rail on brown molded ties, insulated frogs on both diagonals, drop-in compatibility with Atlas Code 83 Snap Track and Custom Line systems.
