The Atlas 566 is an HO Code 83 #8 Custom-Line Mark IV right-hand turnout — right-hand mate to Atlas 565, completing the high-speed #8 pair for double-track crossovers and mainline passing sidings.
#8 geometry. 1-in-8 frog ratio ≈ 7°10′ frog angle, ~35 mph scale speed through the diverging route. The mainline frog of choice on prototype roads. Long overall length (~11") but allows long passenger trains and intermodal stacks to take the diverging route at speed.
Mark IV build. Blackened metal powerable frog, rivet-less switch points, drop-in geometry compatibility with Code 100 Custom Line plans.
