Description
The Atlas 56 is an all-scale Switch Control Box — a panel-mountable SPDT momentary toggle for controlling twin-coil switch machines (Atlas or any compatible brand). The standard way to bring turnout control to your fascia or control panel without building custom toggle wiring.
How it works. Each box contains one SPDT (single-pole double-throw) momentary toggle: press in either direction to send a short pulse to one coil of the twin-coil switch machine, throwing the turnout. The toggle's resting position indicates which way the switch is currently set — a built-in visual feedback. Boxes are designed to couple together side-by-side in any number to build a wider control panel, no wiring between them needed. Includes labels so you can mark each toggle with the turnout it controls.
What it controls. Atlas Snap-Switch remote machines (built into #540/541/542/546), Atlas standalone remote machines (#52/53/65/66/584/585), and any twin-coil solenoid switch machine of compatible voltage. Refer to Atlas's Wiring Book for the standard wiring diagram with AC accessory power.
