Description
The Atlas 543 is an HO Code 83 right-hand 18-inch radius Snap-Switch manual turnout — one-piece turnout with an attached above-benchwork manual throw lever, ready to install with no wiring beyond track power.
Geometry. 18" radius diverging route exactly matched to Atlas 532 (18" curve) and 533/534 (half/third), with a 1/3 18" radius section pre-attached to the curved leg so the exit equals a full 18" arc when joined to existing track. Plastic insulated frog — wheels coast through cleanly, no short-circuit risk, no frog-polarity wiring needed. The right choice for DC starter layouts and small DCC layouts that don't need powered-frog reliability.
Convertible to remote. The manual lever bolts to the turnout body via a standard interface; swap it for an Atlas remote switch machine (#65/66) and you get the same #541-style electrically-thrown operation without buying a new turnout.
