Description
The Atlas 531 is an HO Code 83 Snap Track 15-inch radius curved track half section, four-pack — 15° arcs at the same 15-inch radius, for curve easements, fine length adjustment within a curve, and offset trimming where a full 30° section would overshoot.
Why a half section matters. Curves drift centerline cumulatively as they bend — six full-section pieces sweep 180°, but real layouts rarely need exactly 180°. A 165° curve (5 full sections + 1 half), a 195° approach (6 full sections + 1 half), or a clean S-curve transition all need half sections to land geometry correctly. The 15° arc is also the right easement piece between a straight tangent and a tight 15" curve, softening the snap into the curve and reducing wheel-flange squeal on long cars.
Construction. Code 83 nickel-silver rail, brown molded ties with #2540 nail holes, pre-fitted rail joiners. Matched exactly to the geometry of the full Atlas 530 sections.
