Description
The Atlas 530 is an HO Code 83 Snap Track 15-inch radius curved track, six-pack — half a circle of the tightest standard Atlas radius. This is the curve that lets a basic HO loop fit on a 30-inch wide shelf or a 4×8 sheet with room left over for sidings.
Geometry. Six 30° sections complete a half-circle at 15-inch radius; twelve give you a full circle on a 30" × 30" footprint. Pi r² of usable area: roughly 707 in² (4.9 sq ft) of layout real estate sits inside the loop. This is the smallest production Atlas HO radius and the right choice for 40-foot freight cars, 4-axle diesels, and most steam through 4-6-0; 6-axle diesels and 80-foot passenger cars will overhang severely or derail at 15" and need a wider radius — see Atlas 532 (18") or 535 (22").
Build quality. Code 83 nickel-silver rail, brown molded ties with centerline nail holes for #2540 track nails, pre-fitted rail joiners. NMRA-compliant railhead profile means smooth running with any RP-25 wheel.
