Description
The Atlas 53 is an HO Code 100 right-hand remote switch machine — the under-table-or-side-mount solenoid that converts an Atlas Code 100 manual snap-switch (or rebuilds a damaged switch motor) into an electrically-thrown, panel-controllable turnout.
How it works. A twin-coil solenoid drive sits beside or below the turnout, mechanically linked to the throwbar. Wired to a momentary toggle or a Cab Control Box (Atlas 56) at your operator panel, a short pulse on either coil throws the points in the chosen direction. Designed for DC or DCC layouts — the switch machine itself is electrically agnostic; you simply choose how you wire the throw button. Compatible with Atlas Cab Control Box (56), Connector (57), and Selector (215) panel hardware so you can build a coherent control panel as your layout grows.
For 18" Snap-Switches. This is the right-hand mate to the Atlas 52 left-hand remote machine. Both are designed for the 18" radius diverging leg of Atlas Code 100 Snap-Switches and matched-geometry replacements. The Code 100 platform is the older, slightly taller railhead that still anchors many starter sets and legacy layouts.
